Bye Year 2008 Part II

Then now i am embarking on a key phase of my life. I hope i can get the most out of it and enjoy myself. Sometimes, when i am doing something, i will have this 'don't think too much and just do' mentality. In this way, it might benefit me greatly as i have a tendency to worry over events that have not happened.

2008 - it is a year when i made it into my dream course and the University i want to get in. Now i just need to wait till 2010 to study at University. This year, i also found my passion and the kind of job i would want to have in the future. Some may find my dream laughable; others may disagree with me. I have my mind set in this and all i have to make sure that i don't divert away from my goals.

I stepped into the year that seemed so ordinary but after all, it was a good year spent with so many, so many for me to remember. THANK YOU for all the people that i met and being part of my life in some way. I am grateful. Wish you all the best in all that you do!

Bye Year 2008 Part I

Tomorrow will be the start of the last week of year 2008. Year 2008 will be one of those my favourite years although Mummy did say that year 2008 is not a good year for people who are born in the year of cow. Hopefully, year 2009 will be better for her and Dad.

To me, year 2002 was a great one and could be compared to year 2008. In year 2002, i was able to fly to Korea and there were many holiday trips that i still remember clearly. That's why i am always hoping when i am rich enough, i can migrate to a place where there is winter.

As for year 2008, i managed to go on holidays with maternal and paternal families to Genting. These 2 trips have been largely different in terms of experience. Most importantly, i had a great time. Also, earlier in the year, i graduated with a Diploma in Business Studies after 3 years. It was hard work to receive the certificate.

Then through good friend of mine - Shu Fen, i landed myself a job in the area of teaching. It was a 5 month stint and i managed to meet ... (counting) over 100 students. They are all so different. I managed to see how sub-culture really worked within an organisation/community. Although we may be small as a country, the way people behave can be so different. The experience for me was like 'When North meets West".

To be cont'd. . .

Year 2008 - an end in sight

Year 2008 is coming to an end soon. It is less than 1 week to another eventful year - the year 2009. To say the truth, i actually am looking forward to Chinese New Year. That is when i can grin wider as i collect all my red packets.

This world is moving towards the climax of the year. This period is always having members of the globe gathering together to close the current year while opening a brand new year. It has been like that and will be the same. Probably, i will meet my friends to invite the new year.

waiting

Waiting for somebody is a wild dream. For someone like him to take up that dream, he is wishing for something close to being impossible. Moreover, it is a wait that sees no future or rather there is no dateline.

But with faith from above, he is granted with greater (sometimes foolish) strength to carry on. He dislikes himself for the dread state he is in. He still knows that this is ultimately a love-hate motion. Nevertheless, he places his trust and faith in the invisible hands. He waits on.

A rainy christmas

It is always special when it is Christmas, especially on the Christmas Eve. This year, it was no different. On the street, i witnessed people flooding the pedestrian crossing as they made their meandering way to the shopping mall. People were everywhere in the mall. This kept the businesses going on for the night with some making last minute christmas shopping spree. Besides that, the displayed decorations were just nice for the Christmas mood. To couples, they took a few pictures to remember the night they felt so special about.

However, as i left the mall, the snow-like rain came drizzling down on me. How nice it would have been if it were snow! Despite the rain, it did not bring down this special festive mood. Happines was in the air. While on the bus, the rain got heavier. But i seemed to like it more than ever because i was reminded of the days when i was in a snowy Korea.

The rain was undoubtedly a special and surprise gift from above. A rainy Christmas.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

lousy temper

Recently, i feel that i have a super lousy temper. I changed. For smallest thing on the world, i would want to screamm. I had no control but to feel angry and then without much thinking, i would argue. I wanted to get rid of this lousy temper of mine. It is hard, as hard as a rock.

late birthday celebration but grateful!

20 Dec, it was the last friends' gathering i had. But it was enjoyable. I went out with Gerry, Aik Nen, Amy, Maureen and Pearlyn. oh NO! This sounds like a typical blog entry. Well, i still had to go on writing. Supposedly, we were to meet at Bedok for cycling. AH HA! Before i even reached Bedok, Amy was the first casualty. She smsed me that she had some last minute thing cropped up. So our cycling party reduced from 4 to 3. haha. Maureen called me at 1.15pm saying she just stepped out of the house and that called for the emergency plan. So what was the emergency plan? Nah, i did not even think of one. Gerry and i met shortly. Within a few minutes, we came up with a genius's idea - watch movie at Marina Square. Just nice, we reached City Hall the same time as Maureen.

YES MAN was the movie we decided on the spot. haha. It is a must-watch movie. I found funny all the way. Say YES ! Then it was Marina Barrage. Gerry, Maureen and i were taking pictures while waiting for the reinforcement to join us. Then, i thought it was a birthday surprise for Maureen. Gerry came back with the rest from fetching them. haha. So the song went, "Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to kwan chet!" haha. What!?! It was my name. What a joke it was! The song was also sung to Maureen. haha. Maureen and I were both tricked. Then came the cake. It went right into my face. It was chocolate. All thanks to Gerry and his swift palm. Maybe i was not even prepared for it. That marked my first cake-smashing.

We landed ourselves at Old Airport Road for dinner. As we were on the bus home, i tried to talk to them. But my coughs engulfed me. They could not hear me. So i desperately exercised for some self made sign language. Apparently, it made things worse. But seems like Pearlyn coughed slightly at the end of the day. Hopefully, she is not down with it.

The birthday present was a ball with a card. I guess Amy must be the one doing the card. Thank YOU, Amy, Yong Qing, Grace, Pak Wing, Gerry, Pearlyn, Maureen and Melise!

Gerry looking ahead! haha.

my days

10 Dec

I visited my grandma. Accompanied by Mummy, i went to Jurong Point. Initially, it was not in the plan. Since Mummy mentioned that the extension was opening, we went ahead. The extension was grand. To me, with the new extension, it looked like a small town where top brand products could be found.

11 Dec

I went back to the old place. I was there. I stood and looked at them moving around. But no one noticed me. Maybe it was my cap that they did not take note of me. However, we managed to have some fun sessions playing a soccer regulated with a set of strange rules. Then, there were funny moments while playing the game 'chop chillis'. Perhaps, we 'chopped' too many chillis already. haha.

12 Dec

Another old place. Some of the friends. Some still called me "Uncle". Well, perhaps a 2o year old could be that old. As usual, they played like tomorrow is coming to an end. After that, we had a short sharing session. Then off i went to K Box with Michelle, Ann and Han Xiang. Guan Zhu joined us for some superb dinner. Finally, i got to eat chilli crabs. Although it was alittle spicy, i like it.

8 dec

On sunday, 7 December 2008. I cycled at the park near my house. I went with my father. Well, it was a quick cycle and i find it good to cycle around compared to running.

Marina Barrage. I went there with Han Xiang, Yi Long, Guan Zhu. It was magnificent. It would definitely be a place i want to visit again.

Waiting for the arrival of tomorrow - 9 DECEMBER 2008. This is how good it is going to be.
