It all happened on 24 Sep, night.

Laid in the single hand of its owner was a body with its some feature details as stated:

Aggregate length of object (head to toe): 1.5cm long

Color: purple

The foreign body was in the hand of its owner but not in any form of direct contact, owing to the layer of transparent gloves that disallowed it from happening. Not even when it was dead did its owner dare to lay a gentle touch on it. While it was still alive and glowing brightly in red indicating the oxygenated blood within it, the owner did not touch it. The simple reason given for that restraint was the baby's mama, which relies heavily on its sense of smell, might engulf it if a myterious scent is found on its lovable baby.

At first, when identified some young little ones were trapped under the tray in the base of the cage, its owner then placed immediate attention for what he deemed it to be an emergency case. After putting on a pair of gloves, he with his brother managed to remove the young hamsters from the underneath and placed them in proper positions. The next discovery was even surprising. A purple colored body was found unmoving. To confirm his deduction of the state of the baby, he attempted to touch it. While doing so, he then reminded himself not to clamp with its fingers, the body but instead to scoop it. True enough, it was pronounced dead. No picture was taken of it. The owner of these hamsters was yours truly.

My white hamster has given birth to around 7-8 babies at a go! Well, this would mean that i don't have to clean up the relatively bigger cage for a few weeks. The babies are small and slightly glowing red in color. I can't wait for it to mature faster so that i can lay fingers on them. For me, i am expecting more hamsters in the coming months. What i hope now is that the new-born hamsters would be a mixed type of their parents (white+fluffy brown fur).

2 days of tuitions (19 & 20 Sep). and in the end, i got rather interactive sessions with my tutee. Well, the wednesday class was so lame.

So she told me

Tutee: "You believe i did not go to school today? "

Me (tutor): "What happened?"

Tutee: "i was giddy this morning so i did not go."

Me: (in disbelief state and somewhat bought the idea)

Tutee:"i bluff you." (*haha*)

Anyway, i have got tricked.... So lame.

Meals at Katong!

Title: Meals at Katong!

We met at Kallang Station, on 17 Sep when the minute hand was closing in at 6 while the hour hand was leaving from its 5 position. The time shown was close to 5.30pm. So we all gathered in the number of 7 - Karen, Yi Da, Daniel, Soo Hoon, Xiao Ting, Jia Hui and me. Later on, the rest - Yong Soon, Yvonne, Feng Kai and Yong Qing came joining in.
In summary, we first visited the Golden Pillow 933, 928 Katong Laksa, Taiwanese food then Fei Fei wan-ton noodle. Throughout the whole event, the girls, are like so close that they even claimed they were lesbians, but i know it is acting (unless those viewing this who think they really are, can openly declare via my tagboard). A few instances, i can think of is that Karen, no no, Carrot likes to hug people suddenly, then popped question, "有没有想我?" By the way, Yvonne has yet to answer that burning question of yours, if i don't remember wrongly. The outing also saw some "sparks". If you wanna know how bright it is, you can direct the questions at Yong Qing and Feng Kai (姐弟恋). Ya, Feng Kai had the honour to accompany Yong Qing and meet us at Katong.

Then we also have Yi Da and Soo Hoon and also Yvonne. How did this come about? Ok, firstly because Yi Da likes to eat bee hoon so he chose Soo Hoon. Then as for Yvonne, when we were having the Golden Pillow meal, whenever Yvonne went out, Yi Da would comment that Yvonne went out the shop and answer a call, leaving the group very quiet. Also, Yi Da likes to take photo of Yvonne, remember the one taken under big, fake pineapple tart?

We also have another classic affair that is Daniel and ..... Wen Si. haha. A pity Wen Si did not come. Daniel, you should have at least make effort to ask her to come. As you know, we did grumble that you did not persuade her to come.

Jia Hui and Tecky could be another pair.... Well, Jia Hui told us they were second schools so we all related it to, childhood friends (青梅足马 or 从小玩到大).

While eating laksa, i was saying that i could see Feng Kai from far when he alighted the bus. Then Xiao Ting commented Feng Kai would not have seen me because i am short, (i want to faint).

Anyway, we finished our laksa and on the way to the Taiwanese stall. Feng Kai(1.83 or 1.84m) grabbed me by my neck. Then i was accused that he liked me, i thought it was lame. But i told Yong Qing that Feng Kai should do this to her, haha, then it would be like Jay Chou and Patty Hou. In the end, Yong Qing wanted my blood by chasing me.

At Taiwanese stall, Soo Hoon started again her classics by shooting me down. She said that my brain was.... So she pointed at her bottom which provoked everyone to laugh. So lame, Soo Hoon.

After having food at Taiwanese stall, we went to Joo Chiat. It is not anything indecent you can think of but again it is food - wanton noodle. Feng Kai was still hungry so was i. He suggested to eat there. So we treaded our way there. Feng Kai was walking so fast that, it split the whole group into 2, with Feng Kai, Yong Soon followed by me, Yi Da, Karen, Yvonne and Yong Qing leaving Daniel, Xiao Ting, Soo Hoon at the back. While walking, i got to listen to free 'live' music by Karen, Yvonne and Yong Qing, singing Huiwen's favourite - 最近 and other songs. Then we did sing some cheers like the banana song. Then suddenly, we were walking towards the inner part of Joo Chiat where it was getting less 'simple', somebody started calling me daddy. There was this, when we were walking past a pub where outside there were the customer and service provider (you know what i am saying), Xiao Ting and the rest were shouting daddy at me. Then, i think the customer looked at Soo Hoon and said baby (freaked her out). At first, i was with the first part of the group but i was worried about those behind so i purposely walked back the path and waited for them. But they accused me of trying to peep at the service provider, poor me.

Right after we crossed road, as the first part of the group was waiting for us to catch up on the side. I was walking in front of the second part. Then i was crowded by the 2 parts of the group when we were on the same side of the road. Don't know who started calling daddy and the worse was that someone started suggesting beating me when i tried to take a quick sneak. I do remember it was Xiao Ting, if not wrong, pulled me back via holding my bag. In the end, i got some knocks and sling bag got undone. My lesson learnt was that: "when people say the word daddy, do dodge it". Beside me, there were also Yvonne mummy and Feng Kai daddy. haha.

Finishing wanton at Fei Fei, we also played games like black magic. haha. Then we all walked to Paya Lebar station where we all left for home from there.

It was my cousin, Xinyi that i thought she was really good. there were times i felt she was real funny. She is barely 4 this year but at times, when i looked at what she did was adorable. She could really screammm. It was real loud and sharp.

When we were at the playground, she trying to climb a yellow, 8-shaped steps. What's more was that there was a quite a big step away from the ledge of the playground structure and a misfooting would cause an injury should she land on the playground mat. For her, she could not reach the elevated floor if she climbed with her face facing the yellow steps. Instead, i taught her to do it with her back facing the ledge so she walked to the other side of steps where she was nearer to the ledge and could stretch one of her legs from the step to the ledge. I found her to be an independent person. She wanted to do it herself the stunt again with no one trying to help her or with hands acting as safety net. Brave girl!

After the session at Toa Payoh, i with cousins and brothers went to Wei's house. Another incident was that she wanted me to play a mini merry-go-a-round, at her house. So i had to hold the little hands of hers and we formed a small circle of our own and went in either anti-clockwise or clockwise direction, with legs moving sideways like crabs but faster than the pincer-aided creatures. I was soon already getting very giddy. haha. It was fun then. I together with Yong Lin took a few shots of Xinyi wearing a huge cap. She looked cool. I remember when i was leaving she actually told me this:

"改天你要问你的daddy,mummy，叫他们让你来我的家."

Yesterday, my family and i went to celebrate my paternal grandmother's birthday at Toa Payoh. I thought this was my first time alighting at Toa Payoh MRT station. After reaching the station, mum was wondering where to exit from the station. Ya. I made a guess to exit through 'C' when there was another exit point. Well, later, i thought of a map that would always be available in station which is called the locality map. Just as i thought of it, i accidentally saw it on the wall as i happened to turn and look at the right place, at the right time. These days, using map can be quite intuitive for me. Less than a minute, i could locate where the place is (on the map) and i already orientated myself the general direction of journey to adopt. haha. True enough, i made the right decision. On the way to our destination, i even took out my all-know map book to check my position ensure that we were on track.

It has been some time i met my cousins. Come to think of it, it should be the longest time gap, in which we did not meet, that we have since young. As usual, everytime i meet my relatives and cousins, i would be getting smaller, and my grandmother would then comment that i am skinnier. Can't help, i am now even having the same height as my second youngest cousin, Yong Lin( now in sec 2). To think i am the second oldest among my 7 cousins and 1 brother! Another classic comment would be a direct comparison between me and my brother: 你弟弟可以做哥哥了(your younger brother can take your role as your elder brother). Can't help 2, my brother is 1.79m and only is in his sec 3 while i am only 1.68m. Therefore i shall apply this relationship in maths.

Let y be my height. Let x be my brother's height.

So if x increases, y will decrease.

therefore, x= k/y, where k is a constant. It is an inverse relationship.

In this case, to make it realistic, i assume that y will become smaller relatively thus it is not necessarily i in reality become shorter as it is taken in account, i will maintain my height.

8Sep/Sat: Day 3
I woke up unwillingly. I was really bushed then. I was to carry out my logistics responsibilities but Hui Wen who woke earlier and had done most of the work. For Yong Soon, he slept on the chair where he was captured on Hui Wen's phone.

After the breakfast, there was a string of presentations lined up. They were done by the participants. The segment with the more fun part was the auction. There was actually faked prize. The camp was wrapped up with a certificate.

Home sweet home.

Through the camp, i got to know alot of people and i will remember them as:

- Yida (not counted; knew long before, likes to say 'cold' jokes that are hardly funny )
- Wendy (not counted; knew long before, likes to explore around during night walk)
- Wen Si (sprained ankle, sorry to rake up the 'unwanted past')
- Daniel (PA guy, likes to hum a certain tune)
- Kelvin (tarzan/act gay)
- Hui Wen (2 cats, Puipui and Huihui)
- Feng Kai (likes to sing/Emcee)
- Yong Soon (remains serious and still can make people laugh with his jokes)

In the camp - Part 2

7Sep/Fri: Day 2
When i woke up in the morning, i was terribly tired. I could hardly sleep and i was trying to hibernate at 3plus in the morning. What's worse was that i was without my only sleeping tool for the camp - the blue-colored, Eeyore pillow. It was occupied by a foreign object - the Carrot. Anyway, throughout my sleep, i used my sling bag as a replacement but it was a failure. I could practically wake up every half an hour compared to an hour the previous night and would always see Jia Hui coming up from her sleeping position. Such a coincidence.

In the morning, i did the impossible. I have if not never, but a few times, spread jam over breads for people. It was a form of training for me according to Hui Wen. I still need to have manage the electric kettle. Me being someone who is used to being served, has to serve anyway that is small matter altogether. For me, after breakfast, i needed to rush for my individual presentation and went MIA(missing in action) or 闹失踪, like what Yi Da likes to say, for a while. I came back to camp soon after. By then, the Amazing Race had started with all the relevant parties - Gamemasters, participants and Facis - out of school. So when i returned to 02-02 room, i got to see only Hui Wen, Yi Da, Yong Soon, Wendy and Soo Hoon. Soo Hoon was telling me about her favourite idol - Fernando Torres to the extent i was totally bored (no offence to Soo Hoon) but it was so perverted.

Then the logistics team proceeded to the lunch location for the Race. There Yong Soon again, ya, he again tried a new stunt.

Situation: Needed a trash bin to contain rubbish generated from the lunch

Solution: Yong Soon rushed off and soon in 5mins or so, he came back dragging slightly more than a metre tall, rectangle shaped dustbin with 4 wheels at its base from one of the residential areas. But the bin was extremely smelly.

Then i went around the area with Yvonne as we delivered some lunch boxes and drinks. Soon, the logistics team including me left. When we were on the way back school, Yong Soon joked in the usual serious tone. So he started saying one when he heard Hui Wen saying that to have a name that is same in Chinese and English is good like hers. Then Yong Soon immediately recalled his days at NPCC:

Officer: You, come here, (pointed at Yong Soon and asked him to come to the front)
Yong Soon: Yes Sir.
Officer: What is your Chinese name?
Yong Soon: Yong Soon
Officer: What is your English name?
Yong Soon: Yong Soon.
Officer: What is your English name?
Yong Soon: Yong Soon, Sir.
Officer: hey, don't try to be funny. Drop 20 now.

After hearing this, me and Hui Wen were laughing uncontrollably as we walked to the bus stop. At the bus stop, we saw Shu Ting's group. Yong Soon was saying that he discovered that bus 985 could travel in 20mins back to school. So when we saw Shu Ting's group, we had hoped they did not see us. Then Yong Soon made a silly remark. He said he saw the team coming back from the underground MRT station from we were standing. Then i explained it was not possible there was one way entry/exit so they could not have come back from the back. It must be his eyes playing tricks on him.

Then at night, it was cultural night. We were to have fun. I thought we came up with a superb cheer in such a short time. During the event, i was watching the show and at times, taking photos. Poor Pearlyn was demoted to managing the speaker as it was often switched off due to some technical problem. I was all along watching the show and ZERO participation. The highlight was Royston dancing around the 2 poles - Wei Tai and Yi Da.

After that, we were playing card games - from 大老二, heartattack to bluff. For don't-know-what reason, i have to do a forfeit for losing the game while the rest did not have to as now that i recalled. Then Xiao Ting was suggesting me to do a mimic of all the 12 animals in the Chinese horoscope. In the end, i did a monkey which was unsatisfying. I was then made to move like a snake and glided from outside the room back to the room with my hand clamped and straightened and my hips moving left, right in order to produce the motion when a real snake moves.

Once at night, i had nothing to sleep with again. Xiao Ting grabbed my pillow for the night and i had to sleep like that again.

In the camp - Part 1

5 Sep/Wed: Pre- camp
Had to finish all the logistic stuff before the actual camp started on Thursday In the afternoon, Yong Qing, Hui Wen and Teck Sing (Tecky) were all tasked to buy the food prizes from 'Shop n Save' at Bukit Timah. During the journey, we were all crapping. I still remembered saying to Yong Qing, "We are going to do marketing now". Then, she could not get what i was saying. In the end, I explained,"现在去买菜". I also found that Hui Wen had 2 strayed cats - Huihui and Puipui she liked under one of those blocks.

After buying, Hui Wen actually wanted to feed her cats with 2 packs of catfood she bought. The price of one pack was $0.82, which i would never forget. Unfortunately, she was not able to find the cats as we combed the area where the cats belonged, when we were on our way back.

Back in camp, we had to wrap the gifts. But without the newspapers, it was not possible. So Yong Qing, Yong Soon, Hui Wen and me went around the learning insitute to find the old newspapers.

Here comes the all-time classic act:
Reached the library. So all of us were on high alert as soon as we stepped into it. Then our instinct told us our target had appeared - the newspapers. They were located at the shelves on the right of the main entrance. At first, Hui Wen was pinching a few copies of the newspapers and came to us saying that we could try taking a few each. However, our hero appeared. Not 1, not 10, not 20 but 28 copies. He grabbed them all and still looking serious, uttered to the shocked 3 to leave immediately. In the end, Yong Qing and Hui Wen could not help but lay on the ground laughing loudly. For me, i tried to run with him leaving the 2 in the library who were 'paralysed', laughing at what they saw. What's more, we even walked past the library and i saw that there were 2 cameras at the entrance when we all along thought that there was no camera.

At night, we had to have a trial run of the ice-breakers. I was lucky to some extent as i was only punished once. Then we had a night walk to some spots in the school.

When it was light-out, i could hardly get myself to sleep. Firstly, i was in between Yi Da and Tecky. For me, when i turned to my left, i could hear Yi Da snoring into my ears and to my right, as Tecky was breathing heavily with the wind generated getting into my face. Then Soo Hoon and the rest took video of Yi Da sleeping. haha.

Soo Hoon had hard time remembering my name and kept calling me,"Kam Chek", if i am not wrong, she was calling me sugar cane in dialect.

6Sep/Thurs: Day 1
Welcome the participants for the camp. For the logistics, we were busy preparing the lecture hall for the participants. Then we were lacked of tables and chairs for registration. Then Yong Soon transformed again. He did the unbelievable by bringing a table from the canteen himself. He was carrying it as though in the past, the coolies were carrying loads of sacks. Hui Wen, Yong Qing and i were again in shocked state. Then we went to prepare speakers for the ice-breakers later. At first, it was to be at the Taekwondo space but due to the space being booked, we shifted to the hall. I also, in the midst of my logistic work, helped the gamemasters to pack the waterbombs with flour and vinegar. Then Soo Hoon again, kept calling me sugar cane when i was helping her and the other gamemasters - Foong Ling, Sheau Tyug, Daniel and Wendy. But later she gave me an English - Peter. I told her then to change it to Peter Pan as my surname was Tan so when it made some sense to change to Pan. Alisa called me P^2. After doing the preparation, i went to canteen where Hui Wen was taking care of the lunch. Although it was not time for lunch, i was already very hungry and needed food to stop my gastrics from oozing through the walls of my stomach. I bought a chicken rice and Hui Wen was listening to her favourite song -最近, 李圣杰.

When afternoon came knocking, it was superb. My favourite activity was here - slacking. I spent an hour or so editing my slides for the individual presentation. After that, it was pure fun. Pearlyn, Karen (Carrot), Soo Hoon, Daniel, Sheau Tyug and Wendy went to play basketball with Hui Wen, Foong Ling and Hui Wen's cousin coming later. There i found that Pearlyn was super active in basketball and had a want-to-win attitude. I thought it was nice playing with her. Given that someone who is of the same height as me (1.68m), i found it challenging with her as my opponent. Then i kept making fun of her, though i did not really know her well. So i purposely did not call her by actual name but went on saying 'Carrot'. After the game, i even tried to, as usual, kick the basketball with my feet as my itch to kick effected. So i played a simple game with Pearlyn by trying to get past her with the ball.

Then some of us retreated to the 02-02 room for card games. Sheau Tyug, Pearlyn and i were all waiting for Daniel to come back so that we can play cards. In the end, we were so bored that we made use of the yellow clipboards and ping-pong ball hitting the ball around the main room. Then Pearlyn and i even went to play in the enclosed room. Then we played '大老二'. It was fun. I won the first round. And as usual, i lost the subsequent rounds. My dilemma can be described in chinese phrase, "十赌九输" ( 9 losses in 10 rounds). So i claimed for me to win again, i had to endure another 9 losses. Immediately, after the first round, Pearlyn changed seat with Daniel and sat next to me as she claimed that she could bring bad luck to any player whom she sat right beside. I was the ultimate victim and i really lost all the other rounds.

At night, we had our night games. It was truly fun. I was helping out at the tug of war station which was headed by that Carrot. So she tried to control the game till her voice went hoarse. Then i, being a kind soul helped her to control some parts of the game. After the game, she was the carrot juice, then i was called the apple juice (so lame). Luckily she was grateful to me.

After the wash up, Yong Soon and i realised that we forgot the kettle to claim. So we ended up going out to petrol station. There we saw Hui Wen. Then inevitably we saw Puipui, one of her strayed cats.

'BIG' Discoveries

Saturday (1Sep) - Comex Show. With Michelle, Han Xiang, Guan Zhu and Cynthia. I had wanted to buy a pair of ear-pieces. But in the end, i did not because the thought of queueing and unwillingness to spend stopped me from buying. Then i had to haggle with Guan Zhu on the price for his MP3 ear-pieces as it is the one i am looking for. So the market price was $19 but i was trying to bring down the price till $12 and anyway, according to him, he had not even used it too. So why let it rot at home? Sell it to me and thus at least i can utilise it. Later, we went to Michelle and Cynthia's house. There i made a 'big' discovery. haha. Michelle's mum actually does visit my blog.

Sunday (2Sep) - Mind Cafe. With Daphne, Rui Min, Chitra and Michelle. It was originally to be on thursday as they were saying it is some ladies' night (tried to take advantage of the discounts). Anyway, i could not make it on thursday. That day, we went to play a dog board game. It was quite lame and was our first time trying the game out. The game's mission was to eat bones to fill stuff and then run errands by delivering newspapers. Somehow, after playing for 45mins with the staff assistance, we decided to drop it. The stay at the cafe was rounded by playing UNO Stacko and Monopoly.

In the evening, i celebrated my Grandmother and Dickson's birthdays. So during dinner, i got to know that Winn (6years), Yan An (8years) and May Ning (11years) have got either handphones or msn. Anyway, i have taken them all down. So after dinner, some went to my house. Then we were all playing with my 4 hamsters. As usual, the smallest and cutest one was labelled as 'danger'. I warned my cousins that it is dangerous figure, beware, it bites. I think the candy eye among the 4 was male, brown and fluffy hamster. I was delighted that the hamsters could entertain my cousins, somehow.

Monday (3Sep) - Tuition at office. I was supposed to turn up for the tuition at industrial place. But my handphone went flat at a very wrong time when i only remembered the building but not the exact office location. In the end, i had to make a few public calls back home to find out the company name in order to locate the office location in the centre. Luckily for me, there were only 2 glass- related companies in the whole building. If not, i am in for more searching work.

Tuesday (4Sep) - MSN chat with Winn. Amazing. After tuition at Aaron's house, i used his computer. I ended chatting with Winn for a while. A 6 years old, K2 boy was using msn and on top of that, he told me he was watching YouTube at the time of our chat. So young and he is already so IT-savvy. I also gave him blog link, hopefully he does visit it. I have fixed this coming saturday with Kwan Boon, Tammie and Aaron to watch movie, just right after my camp. Cool! Come Saturday, quickly!

To end this post, i am off to CAMP on wednesday till saturday!
