I went out to buy Mummy's present. Before going out, i tried to find out the size of her foot. Apparently, there was no mentioning of her size on her sandals. Instead, i outlined the size of the sandal on a piece of paper in hope i could use when buying shoes. Then, i tried wearing her sandals. I must say it fitted quite nicely. That is the crux of the entire present-buying.
I reached OG at Bugis. As yesterday i had already decided on the specific footwear (with suggestion from Rui Min), i approached the sales representative about the footwear. As the conversation with the sales rep went, she could tell that i was quite unsure of the foot size. It was a good idea since Mummy's size is about the same as mine. But i felt awkward to wear a LADIES' footwear. To make sure i do not need to go back to exchange for another pair of footwear, I chose to wear the slippers for a few seconds. Pretending that it was a men's shoes, i wore it half-heartedly.
Craps. Hopefully, the present really fits into Mummy's feet. The truth will be revealed next friday.

Mistakes make a lesson, so do questions
Mistakes make a lesson, so do questions.
These - mistakes, questions - generate learning points. Questioning is more of a pro-active way as it is done when one wants to clear doubts. However, mistakes come when one is unsure of his/her work.
For some, to question, it shows that one is slow and has slower rate of learning. Thus, they do not want to ask questions because they will be seen as weak. Mistakes happen when one has not fully understood the topic. 1 or 2 mistakes are pardonable. But when the mistakes snowball to 7 to 8 times. It is demoralising.
These barriers to questioning and mistakes have to be brought down. A positive behaviour will be; once in doubt, have the courage to bring up questions. Also, when plenty mistakes appear, have the determination to stop the mistakes from repeating.

A common phenomenon
Yesterday, I took this picture, just out of my kitchen window. Actually the sky was in total red before turning into this form. Don't you find this sky just wonderful? It is an enjoyment to watch sunset, isn't it? It may be common in our day-to-day lives but in its own way, superb. It took a few seconds of my life away from me yet, it has given me a sense of serenity. I feel calm and i can smile easy.

friends forever
20 March - the day before today. I saw some old friends. It has been approximately 3 months ago i saw them. Some changed. Some had shorter hair (but not as short as mine). Others remained as they were. We still had a relatively fun time. Friends are meant to be forever, i guess this is the meaning of being friends. Friends forever.
never quit
When you are in a losing battle, do you choose to give up or to carry on fighting? Well, for me, i will carry on fighting. For all my life, i have been fighting a battle very unfavourable for me. In terms of intelligence, i am not bestowed with the best of it. Instead, i strive hard to become what i am today. Of course, there are times i am envy of people who are smarter as they can learn things much faster than i do. I have got a big problem concentrating in class some times. Nevertheless, i found my way of overcoming all these shortcomings.
My friend actually told me to give up this battle together with him. But i did not do it and disagreed with him. My perception is that to quit a losing battle shows that one is a loser. It is important that everyone has a winning attitude even in a losing race, battle, competition. Maybe, just maybe you might even overturn a losing battle and make it a winning one. Now i know that i have a couple of essential components in me that keeps me going on - the winning attitude and hardworking - although it can be quite tiring. But everyone has his/her own way of survival. Just make sure you find yours.

Jiun Ru. birthday mission. 21
Today, i was on a mission with Daphne, Jing Hui, Michelle, Rui Min and Chitra. The mission was to surprise Jiun Ru. It has been like 4 years when i last saw her. With some information and help from Jiun Ru's mum, we infiltrated her house. We even got to see her childhood photos. hahas. She still looks when she was a child. Also, she adopted back her hairstyle of old. Then it was planned that Daphne will play the birthday song using Jiun Ru's piano while the rest of us, formed a choir and carried the cake.
Her mum alerted when she was walking home. Like in the past, she walked with her shoulder pushed upwards while her head bent downwards. Quickly, everyone was on high alert. I installed a camera some distance away from the main door to take video. In the end, she saw Daphne and she only started playing after that. Then we came out of the kitchen with the cake. Jiun Ru already found it weird when she saw the camera.
Anyway, I had fun with her dog - shu bi. It was a super friendly yet biased dog. Shu Bi only played with me when the girls did not bother it. hahah. It was my first time carrying a dog. haha.

Yesterday, there was a celebration for Xiao Ting. It was a late celebration where we gathered for some snacks and doing some catching-up. We gave her a pair of slippers. Grace, Alisa, Feng Kai turned up. It has been 6 months since i last saw her. That's really long.

20 year old UNCLE
From 6 March, i have been staying at Ping Chie's house, Hougang. It was a cousins' gathering and was my first time staying at his new house. For this week, i have not slept on my own bed at all. Maybe i should just lie myself flat on my bed during the afternoon nap tomorrow. Anyway, I saw this boy, Jayven, Ping Chie's nephew. This means that i am also his uncle. haha. I am a 20 year old uncle to a 5 year old boy. I just feel i am aging already despite my youthful age of only 20. A 20 year old uncle. haha.

Dinner
Then yesterday, i had dinner with Cynthia, Ann, Michelle, Yi Long and Han Xiang at New York New York. It was meat, potatoes wedges and chickens. I still like the Signature Cold Chocolate that i had at Starbucks. It was simply great.

send Pearlyn off
On friday night, i went to Pak Wing's house for a stayover. Grace, Karen, Amy, Maureen, Gerry and Aik Nen were there too. I did not sleep at all. I was gaming till early in the morning and we went to Changi Airport Terminal 1 to send Pearlyn off as she was leaving for China. It will be some time in June that Pearlyn is coming back. She left with us a grey sky that morning.
