There are no dreams bigger than studying in SMU for me now. I am just counting down to next year as i can get back to studies. Although it can be quite stressful, school life has never lost its sparks. What is enticing me to go back to school is that i can study Economics full-time! haha.
It is my personal 2010 goal.

ME
As i smile through this round, i find myself sometimes silly, sometimes happy. But after a while, it is a mixture of this silliness and happiness that gives me the strength to grow confidently. This is me - as silly and happy as ever.

2009 - not great?
Year 2009. It has not been that great, after all. Especially this week, there are bad news flying in the air at friend-to-friend to even global level where it concerns the global economy.
Globally, there are doubts appearing that President Obama's ability to solve the financial system in US. What's more, with this financial crisis of global nature, US needs the help of other nations to resolve the entire global financial system. This ideal solution will require billions and billions of people to change their spending, saving habits so as to ensure that the nations like US can become a exporting country and China, an importing country.
Then, i have a friend's mum who sadly passed away and my friend's classmate has as well. This is tragedy that i have witnessed, heard so far.
For me, I just hope that all the bad things will find its conclusion and we can all carry on with our lives happily, bravely.

Daimon
In every person, there is a 'daimon', a moral force of divine origin (as said by Socrates). You, yourself will be able to differentiate what is right or wrong, good or evil. Therefore, i agree it is also this same force that keeps driving you daily to get along with life. Whatever your mind thinks of, it has to be rectified by daimon. Daimon will let you know if you are doing fine through your conscience and feelings.
For example, a student can be studying daily from going for lessons in school to having enrichment programmes after school. These are what you are doing daily with a greater purpose in mind - to be somebody great one day or simply to live a better life in the future. Studying to you is a means to this purpose. This purpose is what you want in your life but you have yet to attain it and you know that by getting it, you will be happy.
Sometimes, daimon can make you decide to do things you've set your heart into it and you will do things that you never imagine you would do. Because you know that when there are missed opportunities, it is going to be painful. It must be crazy of me to do something i never thought i did today. At least, i was answerable to myself that i would never regret what i did. Instead, i felt that i did what i could.
That's why i believe daimon is something more than about telling right from wrong and vice versa. It is the driving force of everyone's life. With daimon aligning well with the ideas that you generated, life will be a miracle.

Pearlyn and Amy's Birthday
15 Feb was used to celebrate the birthdays of Pearlyn and Amy. Although it was a late celebration, it is down to the thoughts and effort put in for them. It was held at Maureen's house. Before the surprise, we were all getting ready in the dark room. The candles were lit and Brandon was ready with his guitar. Before the music was played, Pearlyn saw us and we quickly started singing birthday song.

Valentine's Day
Valentine's Day. A day to mark the death of Saint Valentine. The man who defied Emperor Claudius at the Roman Empire. The Emperor wanted an army for himself. But many young, fit men were not willing to part with their loved ones. Instead, he came up with a crazy idea of passing a law to stop marriages. Saint Valentine, a priest, continued to arrange marriages for couples secretly. But when he was caught, he was given death sentence. During his days in jail, he met a fellow jailer's daughter and were able to get along well together. Before his execution, he left a note ending with the phrase, 'love from valentine'. Thus, 14 february became a day for lovers exclusively.
I spent my 2009 Valentine's day with family at my grandma's house. Never mind the fact i have no lover. But i still have with me, my family. My cousins (all the single ones) except Wei (who has a girlfriend and visited grandma earlier) were there. As usual, my fate with my "The One" has yet to come. It is just pretty good enough to get into the festive mood.

Mummy said." 你情绪化，充满幻想" That already summarized the kind of person he is - emotional and likes to dream. Perhaps she is right. Whenever the young man is required to make a decision, he uses his heart more than his head. As long as he has a comfortable feeling in a particular decision, he will be resolute in it and of course, he will not regret it. During tough times, he could hardly tame his temper.
Since young, he will be dreaming big. Some dreams he has can be exaggeratedly BIG and close to impossible to achieve. Mummy sometimes will write it off. But at other times, to give herself some hopes of a better life, she will choose to believe that one day, her son will come good and achieve all those big dreams. Only time will show that what the young man is made of.

February
It is february. For the chinese, it is the seventh day of the Chinese New Year and it is ren ri meaning it is everyone's birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to ALL!
The world is one month past year 2009 and there are 11 months to go. It is not that i can't wait to get older or become 21.
I wish time has a pair of wings and it can fly away as soon as possible (ASAP).

Ann's 21st birthday party
It was my secondary school friend, Ann's birthday. Although the actual day was 29 Jan, she placed the celebration on 31 Jan (saturday) for everyone to make it. Cynthia reached Summerdale earlier than us (that included Jen, Michelle, Guan Zhu, Yi Long, Han Xiang and me).
Ann, dressed like a fairy tale princess, was standing outside the party room. As usual, we talked. Guess WHAT!?! I saw KFC fried chickens. It was only the previous night that i wished that i could have it and it came true. So folks, make your wishes now and they might just come true faster than you could ever imagine.
There were games. Michelle, Guan Zhu, Yi Long and Han Xiang participated. Those were hilarious moments.
After the party, we proceeded to Michelle's house and i played mahjong without money involved. There was one game i got 6 tais and i collected $64. In the end, i won about $45 chips. haha. Finally, i hit the sack at 4.30am.
